IOM Winter Series W10

Six Skippers took to the water, a good breeze from the SSW,12 races of two laps were completed in a clockwise direction around a triangular course of 2 laps. Starting between Start Flags and heading to windward mark 1, a reach to mark 2 then a run to the leeward mark 3 with the finish between the Finish flags.
With wind speeds of around 18 gusting 25 kts all skippers were on B suits which produced some spectacular turns of speed and requiring high levels of concentration when rounding the marks.
Thanks to John for the course, giving a long 1st leg, which requiring at least 2, 3 or maybe 4 tacks to 1st mark, this resulted in a good variation of Skipper tactics to gain an advantage on this 1st leg.
Congratulations to Paul, racing his new Sedici for the first time in an IOM event, set a spectacular pace, winning 8 of the 13 races, John second and Garry third with a very good performance, improving as the event progressed.
