18th September 2019
Brilliant sunshine, brilliant company, lots of weed (not drugs) and shifty light wind greeted the nine keen sailors today.
Paul kindly set the course and raked before and during the racing in the dinghy to reduce the weed problem, Good to see Edward going lots quicker with his dragon in the testing conditions, Gordon despite his pit stops was sailing well, just shows how better the boat goes when it’s switched on and have its drain bung installed.
Both JT and Kevin had their fair share of weed problems, Peter also suffered in several races.
An oval course was set by Paul, we sailed the course, clockwise or counter clockwise, depending on the wind direction, this was decided just before the countdown to go off on a beat.
Barbara kept us in order and kindly scored again and is organising another fun Saturday on 28th September which will use both IOM and small boats, the last fun day was well supported and enjoyed.
Paul is asking for volunteers to clear the weed this coming Monday 23rd Sept, please try and make it even for a couple of hours because many hands make this job much easier, hopefully two teams of three pulling with two in the dinghy.
Everyone made a swift exit mainly because Cliff is going on an OAP stag do tonight and he wanted to make sure the lemonade didn’t go flat in his Sanatogen or his Horlicks got cold, pity as Andy turned up as the last two sailors were leaving to see us all and have a quick sail.
