Today saw people arrive at the lake with frost in the ground, bright sunshine, blue sky and the dreaded light NNW winds that have become so common over the last year. We managed to set a suitable course, at least on paper, but the start and the windward leg to the first mark saw many boats sail into windless holes and the lead to change repeatedly. JT send to be the master of the conditions today and saw him win many races. However, several others also won races and the remainder of the podium places were closely fought over.
JT’s 3d printed Ellipsis, a Frank Russell design, performed faultlessly and was consistently fast on all points of sailing.
Brian also had his new, to him, red IOM and while not being competitive yet shows the fleet is growing and with Bill taking over boat number 8 our fleet is set to grow with 2 new Sedici due to arrive in the club in the next couple of weeks.
Today’s results are below.
