A short notice, “Social” sailing day was instigated having looked at the weather forecast for the week and it turned out to be a great idea, well done Paul !
Spring was certainly present, with warm temperatures and good wind strength from the West.
12 members made it to the lake, some as early as 9:30am.
Mainly IOM’s on the water but a Laser, 2 – Footy’s, 3 – RG65’s and a DF65 made an appearance at some point in the day.
Some took the opportunity to trim and adjust their yachts, with some good improvements and a better understanding of set up and approach to RC sailing.
Friendly racing took placed after lunch, for some serious practicing of “starting” and “rounding the windward mark”.
Unfortunately, time passed really quickly and members started to head homeward with a sense that the clocks changing and the warmer weather making evening sailing closer than ever.
Bring on the sailing in a tee shirt and shorts.
Until next time.
