Firstly, a big “thank you” goes to Paul and Barry for their efforts, yesterday, clearing the transient weed and moving the Buoys away from patches of dense weed growth.
Secondly, Paul also gets a “thank you” for taking on the organisation of today’s sailing. Well done.
Today, 8 IOMs took to the water for the 2nd event of the “Winter” series.
Unlike last week, the weather forecast was good and saw the wind strength fall to zero and therefore the racing drew to a close for the day.
6 races were completed, although 2 were more of a drifting competition.
Rodney and John T made the most of the conditions and Gordon found some form but others still succumbed to the dreaded weed.
1st – John T, 13 points.
2nd – Rodney, 16 points.
3rd – Gordon, 23 points.
4th – Roger P, 25 points.
5th – Kevin, 30 points.
6th – Barry, 36 points (on count back).
7th – Steve, 36 points.
8th – Paul, 37 points.
Finally, all of the 2017 members, have renewed their membership for 2018 so the work now starts to continue to build on the growth of 2017 and put in place a programme of events to meet the various needs of the membership.
Next Wednesday (17th January 2018) is a “Social sailing” day and as last year, we will run an “open door” approach so any boat any size and bring a friend, is the order of the day.
